Tell us what makes your business different from other wedding companies?
We are unlike any other bridal store because not only do we carry collections of designer gowns from all over the world, but we also design and create custom gowns right in house. We have a team of in-house seamstresses and an incredible selection of fabrics from all around the world. Our brides and clients can truly have anything they can dream.
What is the most gratifying part of your business?
I love the challenge of designing or finding the perfect dress for each client. Fashion designers that produce collections have a very different process. They design clothing to appeal to their market clientele. However, when we design, it’s for one person, for a particular occasion, at a specified venue, during a specificseason. You’re working with their coloring, body shape, style and aesthetic. Some people like things more tailored and structured, other clients prefer softer, more flowy fabric. It’s a very big task to make it just right for this person, but so fun and so gratifying to make it exactly just right. Also, there is something so fun about it being their own creation that no one else has!
What is your best advice for engaged couples?
Be you! When planning your wedding, go with whatever feels right to you. Don't think about what anyone else would want - just make selections that make you happy. At the end of the day, this is your wedding and it should be representative of your taste, style, and personality. I always give this advice to our brides. Most times, it’s completely obvious when they’re in THE dress because you see it all over their face. You don’t have to wear white or a veil; wear whatever makes you feel like the best version of yourself. It can be a jumpsuit, or a purple feather gown. Break the "rules" because at the end of the day, there really aren’t any rules. It’s the little unique personal details that make weddings special, memorable, and the most fun!
What is your favorite part of your job?
Women are very hard on themselves about how they look. I am included in this, so I totally get it! However, the most rewarding part of what we do is getting to see women look in the mirror and feel truly beautiful. We work with brides and also a lot of mothers of the bride and groom. Sometimes it happens when they find their dress - that "aha" moment of "this is my dress!" This is my favorite part. Sometimes it happens in a fitting during the custom process. It could be that they finally see with the proper style, fabric, coloring and fit that they can look and feel gorgeous! When that moment happens, it’s the best! There are lots of happy tears and grateful women saying things like, “thank you so much for making me feel so beautiful” and that never gets old!
