Music Institute Of Chicago Celebrates 90 Years With Annual Gala

The Music Institute of Chicago hosted its annual gala benefit at The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, celebrating over 90 years of renowned music education and performance. The event included a private cocktail reception, a New Orleans-style band and musical performances by students and faculty from the Music Institute’s Academy, culminating in a surprise performance by Dushkin Award honoree Marcus Roberts.
John H. Krehbiel and Scott Santi served as honorary chairs for the gala, which was attended by 270 guests, where Fran and John Edwardson were honored with the Cultural Visionary Award of Chicago and enhanced their impact with a $75,000 matching grant. The event also recognized Marcus Roberts with the David and Dorothy Dushkin Award and Erica Anderson with the Richard D. Colburn Award for teaching excellence.
Raising over $900,000, the event supports excellence in teaching and performance while providing financial aid, scholarships and tuition-free community engagements.
