Music of the Heart

| December 31, 2013 | Parties

The sound of more than 300 children united in song filled the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel during the annual Red Jacket Optional gala for the Chicago Children’s Choir, which was attended by high-profile philanthropic, business and civic leaders, such as Gov. Pat Quinn and Chicago Cubs President Theo Epstein. Guests enjoyed a post-concert reception filled with Champagne and sweet treats donated by the pastry pros at Sugar Hills Bakery, and DJ-about-town (and chair of the CCC’s Ambassador Board) Matt Roan spun live beats that kept the crowd moving past midnight. Proceeds from the evening, which reached almost $800,000, will help fund the choir’s mission of providing multicultural music education. –Photography by Jeff Shear
