The new Christina Karin storefront has a midcentury vibe
After a decade on Wall Street, Christina Monley tapped into her passion for fashion to launch her clothing line, Christina Karin, in 2012. This summer, after seven years of primarily e-commerce, she opened the doors to a Bucktown flagship. “The area has always served as our inspiration, so it made sense to stay true to our roots,” Monley says. The new store is half design headquarters, half retail space. The front has a warm, midcentury feel, complete with neon “Chicago” sign, and a black-and-white photography wall sets the tone. “It evokes a sense of rebellion, empowerment and timeless inspiration,” she says. For the latest pieces, Monley sought the sophistication of coastal France. Notable additions include a two-toned Italian suede and leather vest ($475), separates that can be mixed and matched, and a twist-on-a-classic leather jacket ($595), all of which seamlessly blend with any city-chic wardrobe. 2301 W.
