THE PARTY Stephanie Izard of Girl and the Goat, Phillip Foss of EL Ideas, Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia, Mauro Mafrici of Pelago, Patrick Fahy (then of Café des Architectes) of Sixteen, Sandra Holl of Floriole Cafe & Bakery and Jessica Oloroso of Black Dog Gelato offered savory and sweet tastings to the 600 guests in attendance at One Million Degrees’ fifth anniversary Food + Wine Tasting at Venue One. THE SCENE The Chicago Bucket Boys, a talented team of street performers, as well as DJ Madrid, set the sounds for the event. The 2012 Civic Award was presented to Richard Price, chairman and CEO of Mesirow Financial, and more than $600,000 in proceeds benefited One Million Degrees’ (formerly the Illinois Education Foundation) mission to support low-income community college students with everything from tutors and mentors to financial aid and life-skills training.
