| July 1, 2013 | Parties National

THE PARTY The skies cleared just in time for the Lake Forest Chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago to host its opening night party of the 15th
biennial Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens. This year’s home gave partygoers a first look at the gorgeous historic Italianite David Adler mansion and gardens overlooking Lake Michigan in Lake Forest. THE HIGHLIGHTS The eagerly anticipated party debuted the creative artistry of more than 30 interior and landscape designers to kick off the beginning of house tours that lasted three full weeks. The event was attended by community leaders, design industry notables and one surprise guest: Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins, a known David Adler fan. THE BOTTOM LINE Proceeds from the party and home tour will benefit the Angel Harvey Infant Welfare Society of Chicago Community Health Center, located in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. The Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens has raised more than $2.75 million to date. Photography by Dana Lenckus
