The Palmer House Hilton’s Red Lacquer Room
THE PARTY Nearly 250 guests escaped to An Evening in Montmartre, this year’s theme for Auditorium Theatre’s annual gala, which raised $160,000 to benefit programming and the preservation of the theater. THE SCENE Following a matinee performance of Moulin Rouge—The Ballet, guests were welcomed by cancan dancers and a strolling accordionist at the Palmer House Hilton—for that night known as 1889 Paris, France—where they mingled over hors d’oeuvres and had their pictures drawn by caricaturists Roger Hurtado and Chuck Senties. Kehoe Designs recreated the City of Light with candlelit centerpieces and rose petal-covered tables in the Red Lacquer Room, where Director of Education Christina BournĂ© gave a surprise performance of “La Vie en Rose.” - Photos by Bob Carl
