Friends of PAWS Chicago and their pups were on island time at the 14th annual Beach Party.
THE PARTY More than 450 animal lovers and 100 dogs flocked to the upper deck of Castaways on North Avenue Beach for a night of tropical fun in support of PAWS Chicago, the city’s largest no-kill humane organization.
THE PEOPLE While human guests—including FOX 32’s Jenny Milkowski, NBC’s Marley Kayden and KISS FM’s Christopher Frederick (Fred)—sipped pawgaritas as the sun set, their pooches hit the doggie buffet, sampled doggie ice cream and were pampered at the Paradise 4 Paws Dog Spa with puppy paw-di-cures and splash pools.
THE PINNACLE US99’s Lisa Dent emceed the evening, which featured an energetic live auction that had guests generously bidding high on a week of golf in St. Andrews, Scotland; a paradise retreat in Bali; a VIP experience at Sundance Film Festival; and more. The night raised $350,000, and six homeless dogs had a chance to meet hundreds of potential new owners.
