Pretty in Pink

| December 16, 2013 | Parties National

THE PARTY The Hilton Chicago was awash with pink for the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation’s 28th Annual Fall Benefit Luncheon, co-chaired by Nancy Resnick and Julie Barrish. THE SCENE More than 1,100 guests, many dressed in the color of the day, sipped Champagne as they bid on 180 handbags from top luxury brands during the Purse-sue the Cure silent auction before moving to the International Ballroom for a lunch of herbed grilled chicken, beef tenderloin, couscous salad and grilled vegetables. THE HIGHLIGHTS The event’s keynote speaker, Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton, brought the room to both laughter and tears with her moving address, during which she shared memorable clips from her films, as well as intimate details of losing her own parents to illness. Keaton also praised Lynn Sage for raising more than $27 million in 28 years. “I’m on the board of the Los Angeles Conservancy, and let me tell you, we don’t know how to raise money like that!” she quipped. By the luncheon’s end, another $1.2 million was raised for the nonprofit’s breast cancer research initiatives. Photography by Robert Carl and Ana Miyares
