The newlyweds shared a moment together at golden hour.

THE COUPLE Elle Murray and Terrance Muse met on a boat on Lake Michigan during the summer of 2020, while most of Chicago was shut down. “We enjoyed every weekend on the water together, as boating was one of the least restricted activities at the time,” Elle remembers. A little over a year later, Terrance proposed near the water, too—this time on the beach in Aruba.
THE DETAILS The bride’s uncle married them in a Catholic ceremony at the stunning St. Alphonsus Church, then the newlyweds and their 165 guests headed to the sleek and modern Venue SIX10. “The venue was very special; we loved having a view of the lake,” the bride says. “It was meaningful to be able to share a view that we are so fond of with our friends and family.” Decor was minimal yet oh so elegant: all black, white and mixed metallics.
THE PARTY “All the speeches were beautiful testaments to who Terrance and I are,” Elle says. After dinner, the couple hit the dance floor and never stopped—until fireworks over Navy Pier drew them out onto the balcony. The next morning, they hosted a wedding brunch to recap their perfect night with family and friends over bottomless mimosas.
Custom Champagne flutes were perfect for toasting.
Reception decor was “minimal, but elegant and timeless,” the bride says.
Jewell Events Catering crafted a simple white cutting cake for the duo, with pistachio buttercream filling and Italian buttercream frosting.
“Because we got married on a Saturday in June, we had a view of the fireworks from Navy Pier,” Elle remembers.
