Kehoe Designs surprised Maryam by including dahlias—her favorite flower—among pastel roses in the decor.
THE COUPLE Maryam Zaffer sat next to Arbaz Chaudhry in a college class sophomore year, and “we discovered we had been living less than five minutes away from each other for over a decade, and had many mutual friends,” Maryam recalls.
THE DETAILS The bride always knew she wouldn’t wear red and gold—traditional South Asian bridal colors—for her big day. Instead, she opted for orange, designing her own gown and having it made by a seamstress in Pakistan. Her gown informed the decor, where she likewise defied tradition. “To leave a lasting impression, I chose to add a boho twist to the normally conventional and standard floral theme associated with South Asian weddings,” she says.
THE PARTY Four hundred guests enjoyed an immaculate celebration at The Geraghty, indulging in traditional cuisine and lots of dessert. The couple sat at a sweetheart table adorned with dried flowers and feathers. “My biggest wish was to have a wedding in the city, and I fell in love with the opportunity to transform this unique setting into any innovative idea I could dream of,” Maryam shares. “I wanted our guests to be in absolute awe.”

The bride and groom (who chose to keep their faces private for publication) both wore shades of orange in their traditional wedding attire, which was custom made in Pakistan.
