Renaissance Man

| August 4, 2014 | Parties National

The Gene Siskel Film Center honored Morgan Freeman with the Renaissance Award during A Candid Conversation With Morgan Freeman. At The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, festivities began with Gov. Pat Quinn declaring June 7 as Morgan Freeman Day. The four-course dinner that followed was themed to Freeman’s many films, including a salad titled The Glory of Beets and Tomatoes. Later, the actor and his Last Vegas director, Jon Turteltaub, took the stage. The event raised more than $350,000 for the center’s programming and featured a special raffle prize of a selfie with the famous actor himself. –Photos by Bob Carl and Dan Rest
