Silver Jubilee

| December 16, 2013 | Parties

The Peninsula Chicago is one of our favorite homes away from home, so it’s no surprise that Chicagoans headed to the Big Apple to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Peninsula New York. A red-carpet lined 55th Street, where a traditional Chinese lion dance accompanied by drums honored the hotel’s Asian heritage. No expense was spared to deck out the interior with six mini venues, each with live entertainment, but what took our breath away were the 25,000 stems of roses, hydrangeas and alstroemeria that created 18-foot-tall ribbons floating like a rainbow of flowers.
