THE PARTY North Avenue Beach was the site of a two-day tournament for the Chicago Beach Polo World Cup. THE PLAYERS To kick off the weekend, lucky locals mingled with world-renowned players including Nic Roldan, Ben Rosenfield, Paula Chermont and Tavi Usandisaga at the Grey Goose Blue Door Polo Clinic. After a few specialty cocktails and rolls from Union Sushi + Barbecue Bar, Billy Dec, Marcus Riley, Rebecca Michuda, Irene Michaels and more received one-on-one lessons from the experts while riding horses at the Noble Horse Theatre in Old Town. THE HIGHLIGHTS Over the weekend, VIPs gathered around the custom beach arena and watched a total of eight teams compete. Grey Goose cocktails, Fogo de Chão bites, fashion shows and pop-up shops kept everyone busy between matches. OVERHEARD When asked about the high levels of attractiveness in his profession, top American polo player (and, consequently, model) Nic Roldan responded, “There are a lot of good-looking polo players, but no, it’s not in the manual, like, ‘Check! You have to be good-looking and have long hair.’” Well, we think that’s debatable. Photography by Daniel Boczarski of Getty images and Robert Milkovich Photography
