Spotify is here, and now you know exactly how many times you streamed Olivia Rodrigo and Bad Bunny. It’s almost embarrassing to see all those stats laid out in front of you, but you shouldn’t feel weird about it. Turns out everyone was listening to Bad Bunny and Rodrigo on repeat in 2021—and Drake still, too!
The massively-popular music and podcast streaming service released its annual Wrapped campaign for 2021, serving individual account holders with personalized social stories counting down their most-played songs, albums, artists, genres and more. You’ve no doubt seen the flood of shares on Twitter and Instagram, but even more interesting is how we all listened collectively.

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny took the top spot as the most streamed artist for the second year in a row. He racked up more than 9.1 billion streams in 2021, followed by Taylor Swift at No. 2, Korean boy band BTS at No. 3, Canadian R&B-rap star Drake at No. 4, and pop star extraordinaire Justin Bieber at No. 5.
All that aside, it was breakout pop queen Olivia Rodrigo who took the crown for the most-streamed single. Her breakup ballad “Drivers License,” released in January of this year, was spun more than 1.1 billion times alone. Lil Nas X’s feisty “Montero (Call Me By Your Name) came in second, while Bieber’s “Stay” with The Kid Laroi came in third. Rodrigo came in at No. 4 with her pop-punk single “Good For You,” and Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” collaboration with controversial rapper Da Baby came in at No. 5.
It should come as no surprise then that Rodrigo’s LP Sour topped the list for most-streamed albums, considering two of its singles hit the top 5 songs list. She was joined by Dua Lipa’s Nostalgia at No. 2, Bieber’s Justice at No. 3, longtime hit-maker Ed Sheeran’s = at No. 4, and sci-fi R&B diva Doja Cat’s Planet Her at No. 5.
Of course, podcasts get a lot of play over at Spotify as well. The Joe Rogan Experience remains the top dog in the podcast world, followed by Alex Cooper's modern-feminist program Call Her Daddy at No. 2, true-crime killer Crime Junkies at No. 3, inspiration presentation peeps TED Talks Daily at No. 4, and NYTimes news program The Daily.
