Standing Garde

| January 26, 2012 | Parties

THE PARTY The University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation (UCCRF) Women’s Board hosted Avant Garde, its 45th annual Grand Auction and Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. THE SCENE Featuring beautiful d├ęcor with lustrous white walls and floating candles, all courtesy of The Flower Firm, the atmosphere boasted an avant-garde feel and complemented the innovative and progressive approach toward cancer research at the University of Chicago. Co-chaired by Terri Brady and Tricia Cox, the evening included dinner and a live auction featuring a platinum and diamond drop pendant necklace from Tiffany & Co., as well as a number of vacations, including a trip to London and Paris with a 5,000 euro shopping spree at Ralph Lauren, sponsored by the designer and American Airlines. THE BOTTOM LINE With thanks to Tiffany & Co., Kirkland & Ellis LLP and additional sponsors, the gala raised $750,000 for continuing support of cancer research. To date, the UCCRF Women’s Board has raised more than $13 million for the cause. Photos by Cheri Eisenberg and Dan Rest
