Chicago’s philanthropic set gathered at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago for the Midwest Regional Office of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF’s third annual Chicago Humanitarian Awards Luncheon, which this year honored local luminaries Dolores Kohl and Ann Lurie for their tireless work on behalf of children in need. One of the afternoon’s most inspirational moments came from keynote speaker Carrie Rhodes, who shared her story of her own family’s battle with maternal and neonatal tetanus, and rallied attendees to immediately make a donation to The Eliminate Project, UNICEF’s global campaign to wipe out MNT. –Photography by Liliane Calfee
