The Party
The Art Institute of Chicago’s Evening Associates outdid themselves with Night Heist’s fifth annual event. The sold-out gathering—celebrating the museum’s Charles Ray: Sculpture, 1997-2014 exhibition—treated more than 1,100 art fans to delicious food and beverage stations while raising close to $90,000 for the museum’s programming.
The People
Donning stylish outfits in keeping with the black, white and metallic dress code (inspired by Ray’s work), a select group of guests kicked off the evening at the VIP reception at Terzo Piano and Bluhm Terrace. Guests excitedly waited for tasty signature cocktails by mixologist Adam Seger, whose setup looked like something out of a laboratory. Later, guests filled Griffin Court and Pritzker Garden, sampling small bites, creative cocktails and scrumptious desserts.
Best in Show
The true star of the evening was the exciting exhibition featuring Ray’s sculptures. Partygoers were able to take intimate docent-led tours, learning more about the man behind such iconic sculptures as Hinoki. A party with a side of culture—truly the recipe for a perfect evening. –Photos by Melissa Song and Dave Suarez
