Some cultures consider the ladybug a symbol of reincarnation—proof that life continues. So when Stuart Dyer launched her vintage clothing and accessory business in 2009, her longtime love of ladybugs was the ideal representation for a business dedicated to “bringing back the old,” she says. Thus, Ladybug Vintage was born. “Wearing vintage allows for effortless individual creative expression,” Dyer says. In the decade that followed, her far-flung finds have attracted an international clientele ranging from the Gucci Museum to costumers for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Next up? Co-chairing the opening party of the Chicago Antiques + Art + Design Show at theMART May 16, which benefits the Woman’s Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. “When I travel, I realize that different regions have different points of view,” she says. “Having the show in Chicago is cool because it’s people from all over the country bringing their ‘eye’ to the city.” 6-9pm, tickets $200-$225, VIP tickets $250-$275, 222 Merchandise Mart Plaza
