The Party
The Evening Associates of the Art Institute welcomed Chicago’s young art enthusiasts to its fourth annual Night Heist. Eager partiers gathered in the Modern Wing to enjoy a lively night of libations and entertainment with a Magritte theme.
The Scene
The highly anticipated evening began with a VIP reception, where DJ Gilligan Moss played upbeat tracks for the exclusive crowd. Guests savored hors d’oeuvres inspired by Magritte’s work like “The Lovers”—sweet and tangy sliders accompanied by mystery snacks packaged in bags inspired by the heads in the famed painting.
The Highlights
Guests enjoyed exclusive after-hours access to the marquee exhibition, Magritte: The Mystery of the Ordinary, 1926-1938, leaving many in awe. Top local mixologists crafted Magritte-inspired cocktails for the cultured circle. We were wowed by Adam Seger’s Belgian ale sorbet concocted using liquid nitrogen, fittingly dubbed Attempting the Impossible. Throughout the evening, two contortionists and a juggler enchanted guests. Even more enchanting: Lucky raffle winners left with trips to Las Vegas and VIP tickets to Lollapalooza. –Photos by Onasis Odelmo
