Sweet 70

| August 31, 2011 | Parties

THE PARTY Legendary steakhouse Gene & Georgetti toasted 70 great years with three nights of 1940s themed celebrations to benefit Common Threads, Standing Tall and the St. Vincent DePaul Center. THE SCENE Each of the three sold-out dinners was an ode to the ’40s with four-course prix-fixe menus, cocktails, entertainment, glamour—and, at $15.25 per person, 1941 prices. More than 1,100 guests total were transported back in time to a retro-themed dinner party (Thursday), a Golden Age Hollywood to-do (Friday) and a Big Band performance (Saturday). THE BOTTOM LINE More than $23,000 was raised for the charities. Photos by Carasco Photography
