The James Beard Foundation’s annual Taste America culinary series brings together a lineup of incredible chefs in a celebration of the richness and diversity of local food culture in cities across America.
In its 10th year, Taste America is taking an expanded shape with the TasteTwenty. A cohort of 20 chefs from 20 different cities will collaborate in culinary creativity and represent the James Beard Foundation’s mission of Good Food for Good on a tour across the country.
On Sunday, March 5, the tour will stop for a collaborative brunch at Chicago’s own Peach’s Restaurant.
TasteTwenty chef Lamar Moore, Peach’s Restaurant chef Cliff Rome, and visiting TasteTwenty chef Chutatip ‘Nok’ Suntaranon from Kalaya in Philadelphia have teamed up to create a mouthwatering multi-course brunch menu.

For starters, enjoy a housemade brown butter cornbread, biscuit, and pimento cheese paired with a welcome cocktail from 1800 Cristalino Tequila.

Suntaranon will showcase her traditional Thai recipes in the first course with a gui chai garlic chive pancake served with sweet soy sauce. Moore is the star of the second course, channeling Southern food culture and serving Marsh Hen Farms white cheddar grits with fried catfish. Rome rounds out the brunch with a sweet finish – Peach’s famous peach cobbler.
“The James Beard Foundation is thrilled to bring together such an exceptional pairing of chefs from the Chicago and Philadelphia culinary communities for our tenth year of Taste America,” says Siobhan Flaherty Haber, vice president of events at the James Beard Foundation, in a press release
