Most interactive performances have wallflowers wishing they were anywhere else, but Klaus Schuller, general manager of Teatro ZinZanni’s Love, Chaos & Dinner, promises an experience that will make guests look good and feel comfortable. “There’s a sense of community shared immediately,” says Schuller. “This gives everyone permission to let go.” The unique show blends cirque, comedy and cabaret acts with a four-course dinner developed by Debbie Sharpe of The Goddess and Grocer.Previous runs in Seattle and San Francisco took place outdoors, and Chicago’s premiere will be the first time the show will be under a roof—but that hasn’t meant less chaos for the producers. The show’s home, on the 14th floor of the Cambria Hotel, has been under construction for months. During the development, builders discovered a hidden level, last used for delivering speeches about the evils of alcohol during Prohibition. Naturally, that’s just where you’ll find the bar. Opens July 18, tickets $99-$189
