THE PARTY Hosted at the Ivy Room at Tree Studios, The Big Green Gala proved to be an exceptionally vibrant evening. Plenty of Chicagoans were on hand to help support hosts Albert Friedman and Kimbal Musk’s goal of building and supporting 200 learning gardens at Chicago Public Schools by next summer. THE PEOPLE Musk’s mother, CoverGirl ambassador Maye Musk, enjoyed the night along with other notable guests like Diane Primo, founder of Intralink Global, and Linda Johnson Rice, CEO of Ebony magazine. THE PINNACLE Guests enjoyed garden-themed cocktails, a family-style dinner and a performance by the acclaimed local band Whitney. Overall, the evening raised nearly $400,000 to help fund the building of learning gardens and further the nonprofit’s goal of creating a healthier future for Chicago’s students.
