Beyond glamping, pet-friendly The Fields offers amenities like hiking trails, a barbecue area, a garden, the new Treehouse Spa and more.
Yearning for an outdoorsy escape from the urban sprawl of the city, but want to make it luxe? Make tracks to The Fields of Michigan, a 30-acre property situated on a working blueberry farm in South Haven, Mich., which features 19 on-site luxury tents and provides guests with an intimate stay, resortlike amenities and natural serenity.
Opened in 2019 by Irene Wood, the destination has fast become a go-to for those in the know, and the property has unveiled an exciting expansion for 2021, including a spa amid the pine trees, a new bar and lounge with indoor and outdoor options, and increased space for double the occupancy. Complete with a wood-burning stove, a private outdoor fire pit, a king-size bed, top-of-the-line linens, stylized fixtures and seating, en suite bathrooms and more, each room offers five-star treatment against the backdrop of a lovely, sylvan setting.

The newly debuted Treehouse Spa offers relaxation massages, hot stone treatments and aromatherapy. Pre- and post-pampering, guests can relax, unwind and awaken the senses with Japanese-inspired forest bathing. In keeping with The Fields’ commitment to wellness, the bar and refreshment area located at The Willow common area will introduce happy hour, after-dinner cocktails and nourishing beverages like smoothies and juices sourced from local produce. Also an integral part of the venue’s wellness philosophy, The Fields’ yoga program presents a variety of classes in partnership with top yogis for mindful meditation.
“We’ve spent the last year establishing amazing connections with our guests and listening to their enthusiastic feedback with open ears,” says Wood. “It became clear very quickly that now is the time for us to thoughtfully build upon the beautiful foundation we’ve created while maintaining the charming and intimate environment we’re known for.” Open May 7-Nov. 1, rates from $350 per night, thefieldsofmichigan.com
