On the Mark

| August 17, 2015 | Parties

Two-time Academy Award nominee Mark Ruffalo may play a daunting superhero on the big screen, but the star traded his Hulk green for a dapper tux at the Gene Siskel Film Center’s Renaissance Awards. The fete, held at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, attracted 350 guests, including Chaz Ebert, Christie Hefner and Mayari Pritzker. Ruffalo shared candid memories from behind the camera with the crowd, and later, School of the Art Institute of Chicago President Dr. Walter E. Massey presented the Renaissance Award to the actor for his diverse career that aligns with the spirit of the award. By night’s end, $400,000 was raised for the Film Center—truly a starworthy turn. –Photos by Robert Carl and Dan Rest
