THE COUPLE Shane Southwell fell in love at first sight with Faith Suggs—according to Faith—when he saw her at a basketball tournament where they were coaching back-to-back games. The following week, he reached out via Twitter, and they shared their first date in Brooklyn.

THE DETAILS Their love for basketball was apparent in the custom decor, like a bedazzled net escort board, and other elements were inspired by their home. “Greenery was important to us because greenery gives you life and energy,” Faith says. The flowers had a special story, too. “The bouquets were put together by the bridesmaids the morning of the wedding; it was such a wonderful, personal moment for the bridal party.”

THE PARTY During the reception, a custom scent from a local candle studio wafted through the air, offering guests a unique sensory experience, and a roving magician performed tricks. The couple’s former college teammates appeared on the dance floor in jerseys as an ode to their basketball days. The festivities ended perfectly with late-night Chicago pizza. –LC
