The Party
The upper levels of Block 37 may be awaiting their final tenants, but the raw space was buzzing during the ninth annual Tickled Pink fundraiser, which generated more than $65,000 for breast cancer awareness.
The Scene
Platinum Events transformed the venue into a chic, party-ready lounge, and students from Nicholas Senn High School painted a fanciful mural for the occasion that will be a permanent addition to the shopping center. Partygoers had their choice of scores of tasting stations from the likes of Travelle and Moto, as well as an endless assortment of tempting desserts—macarons from La Fournette and mini cupcakes from Vanille Patisserie among them. Guests soon moved to the dance floor to work off any indulgences during a high-energy set from The Chicago Players.
The Highlights
Local firefighters employed their charm to sell additional tickets for the evening’s raffle, which included covetable themed packages for both ladies (gift cards and products from Aveda, Bloomingdale’s, Edith Hart and more) and gents (tickets to a Bulls game and BeerHoptacular, a Chop Shop grill package and a signed Derrick Rose jersey). Now those are what we’d call hot commodities! –Photos by Andre Lacour Photography and Rife Ponce Photography
