What is your best advice for engaged couples?
Take your time and enjoy every moment of the planning process. Create a memory and take time to be present through the process. Try not to worry, everything will turn out wonderfully and your day will be even more special if you enter it relaxed knowing the marriage is the cake, the wedding is the icing.
What is your favorite trend for weddings currently?
We are seeing the use of harvest tables not only for the head table or family table but for all tables. This is inspired by the family table celebrating good food, good stories and family.
What would you like to be the new trend for weddings?
We love this new trend of “east coast” weddings where the dance floor is open in between courses and guests are encouraged to dance throughout the entire evening and not to wait until the dance floor is officially open after dinner. This really brings a whole new energy to the event as everyone is involved with the celebration from the start dancing the night away.
What big news do you want to share?
We are opening a new restaurant called Coa offering a Spanish Mexican fusion menu with Spanish tapas. This restaurant has a marble private dining room for rehearsal dinners or welcome dinners for 40-60ppl.

The Drake has a lot of long term staff who are loyal to the hotel. There is a sense of pride the team takes for each encounter and event that keeps them showing up at their best and going the extra mile to make each event the best event. Ownership is intimately involved.
