The Party
The Four Seasons Hotel was the setting for the 47th Annual Grand Auction Gala Visionnaire, hosted by the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation Women’s Board along with Verdura and Ralph Lauren.
The Scene
The entire event honored the devoted physicians and researchers at the University of Chicago who pursue complex cancer research. Veteran researcher Dr. Janet Rowley received the 2013 Partners in Discovery Award for her important work linking genetics and cancer. But the other star of the evening was the grooving Bill Pollack Orchestra, who gave a backbeat to live and silent auctions featuring an eight-day safari in South Africa, a three-night stay in Lake Como and a custom alligator bag from Ralph Lauren.
The Highlights
