THE COUPLE Cameron Cankaya and Christine Park met at a work event (thanks to the wingman, Cameron’s boss). They connected instantly and, after a month of dating, Cameron met Christine’s family; she met his nine months after that. “In Korean culture, introducing your partner to family is [significant],” Cameron says. “To meet all the family, all at once, and so soon, was special in itself.”
THE DETAILS The couple added an excerpt from Pixar’s Elemental to their vows. “We often compare our relationship to Ember and Wade in the movie because of our opposite personalities,” Christine says. In addition to personal details, they aimed to display their global love story by incorporating a cherry blossom color palette to symbolize South Korea.
THE PARTY Each of the 54 guests got to spend quality time with the couple after the ceremony. “The reception was intimate; it was the perfect size to have everyone partying on the dance floor all together,” Christine says. Post-reception, the festivities continued at Howl at the Moon, with everyone belting their favorite lyrics all night long.
The cake was ombre pink.
Christine changed into a slip dress for the party.
