VISIT Newly opened in Lombard, the National Indo-American Museum has unveiled an inaugural exhibition combining art, education and digital technology to honor the contributions of Indian Americans to our nation’s culture. On view through March 27, E/Merge: Art of the Indian Diaspora showcases contemporary works from nine emerging Indian American artists whose stories shed a light on their travels across international borders to live in the United States. “Works in the exhibition challenge the preconceptions of what and how diasporic artists represent themselves and investigate the notions of origin, narratives of dispersal and cultural conditions of globalism,” says curator Shaurya Kumar. 815 S.
