Wild at Heart

| May 1, 2014 | Parties

A tropical adventure, complete with safari decor, monkeys swinging from vines and hibiscus-flavored cocktails, was in store for more than 600 guests attending Into the Wild, A Road to the Cure, Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s 21st annual Bear Tie Ball at the UIC Forum. The live auction garnered impressive bids (an adorable labradoodle puppy went for $12,500), but the evening’s chair, Candace Jordan, was most taken with the artwork created by young cancer patients for the silent auction. “They wanted to help make a difference,” she says. –Photos by Jon Recana
